Riverdale 2.03 Chapter Sixteen: The Watcher in the Woods

Riverdale 2.03 Chapter Sixteen: The Watcher in the Woods

Why does this Black Hood take trophies of the adults but not the kids? He shot the kids and none of their possessions were taken. Fred Andrew's wallet was stolen. Miss Grundy's sunglasses. People all revolving around Archie.

What in the world is a Ghoulie?! Why are there more than one gang groups on the South Side? This complicates things but I guess there wouldn't be Serpents if they didn't have a rival gang. They need a group to challenge so obviously seems like the best way to present itself. Jingle Jangle is also a silly name for a street drug. Then again, Riverdale is supposed to be perky and fun... it's just we have murder thrown in!

I do feel bad for Kevin's anger. He has this inner turmoil and he wants so hard to be himself but he's in a conservative town hiding. I don't think the dialogue missed the mark, but you're kept guessing as to why he's always running in the woods. Only the imagery of seeing fellow gay men do you realize he's there to meet up with strangers. These strangers are also hiding themselves in the dark, just like Kevin. That one angry male adult really scared me though. That's when predators show aggression and you get uncomfortable in a snap.

Red Circle looks silly. Why am I laughing so hard that he found the name off his old comic book? I wonder how long this will last but it's fantastic how the idea took off with advice from Hiram Lodge.

How easy it is for Mr. Lodge to plant a seed so suddenly to show the ripples of his actions. Involving himself this way shows he's used to get his way. All he has to do is plant a seed, not really lifting a finger to start something. It's almost admirable, especially since they were able to help Ethel. I don't know why she's walking late at night on a scary road alone, but that's always how it happens. Everyone knows to steer clear of those pedophile vans!

The Flash 4.03 Luck Be a Lady

The Flash 4.03 Luck Be a Lady
It's Sugar! She still looks the same considering I've seen her on TV growing up and used to be a radio disc jockey. She got to turn her fortunes around by affecting everybody else's. It was a straight-forward concept but the "cherry pop" lines were an overshare of sexual innuendo.

It doesn't take away from the fact this episode was silly on its own. If the writers keep going in this direction, visiting the new metas will be just as boring.

Iris is so extra. In the church she said the coffin is a nice cedar and climbs on an alter to flip the deceased man's portrait. I'm tired of her character and she's always in the way. The damsel has got to go when her day job is forcefully being on Team Flash.

Harry Wells is here to take the spot of Wally West?! How is this allowed? I know he wasn't getting any use now that Barry is back, but removing the second speedster is a shame.

Riverdale 2.02 Chapter Fifteen: Nighthawks

Riverdale 2.02 Chapter Fifteen: Nighthawks
The Serpents really are everywhere! I knew this new season would dive into the other side of the tracks but I wouldn't have guessed this. Having the lawyer that's in with the gang is actually really handy. It's also difficult Tall Boy thought she would be a good fit to help because they're all connected. Penny Peabody offered helpful advice but she sounds like she will call a favour when she pleases.

Greendale is a random town. I feel like mentioning Miss Grundy didn't move too far away is a sign she wanted to stay close to Archie? It's a possibility that's why she was still tutoring children in music. I like how Mrs. Cooper mentions it was a "crime of passion". There's a lot of hurt happening in Riverdale. It doesn't make sense that Archie's friends are getting picked off one by one.

I laugh at the fact Archie is seconds away from signing up for the Sheriff's office. He waved his bat at Jughead in the house like second nature. Lack of sleep and running on adrenaline is not good. Reggie 2.0 even called it out. I don't think having a weapon should give you comfort in security.

I don't understand why Cheryl can wear sexy underwear in the locker room. Didn't her possessions get lost in the fire she started? It's funny because she's still put together when her mother is bandaged up.

Aww I liked Smithers! He was so loyal to the Lodge family, and even put Veronica's best interests at heart. I hope he comes back. Hiram seems to be getting rid of people so he can have more control over who plants ideas in his family's heads.

I didn't see that dark ending coming! If Midge and Moose are dead, this means this sicko kills at random or he has more than one person working with him.

The Flash 4.02 Mixed Signals

The Flash 4.02 Mixed Signals
I don't know why this storyline is getting silly. I can't believe I'm getting bored by how this season is running.

It doesn't make sense that there's people living outside Central City becoming meta humans when they weren't near the S.T.A.R. labs accident. I don't like the idea of following 11 more people to see if they have special abilities.

This episode focused on revenge of an angry person. I'm not for that and I feel the "bully" of the group didn't deserve to suffer the way she did. She was also wrong to treat the meta as a loser and talk down on him like she was top.

Cisco was absolutely ridiculous as well with his bad comebacks. Barry's suit wasn't good

Wally getting a new hair style was a highlight. We'll see what they bring next week. I don't think I can stand chasing 11 metas but we'll see how they execute it. The writers are dropping the ball on this

Riverdale 2.01 Chapter Fourteen: A Kiss Before Dying

Riverdale 2.01 Chapter Fourteen: A Kiss Before Dying
I knew Jughead would be smart enough to narrow down the killing was pre-meditated! He identified a possible motive and pinpointed the robbery not making away with any cash. I don't think the South Side Serpents have anything to do with this. They're a harsh biker gang, but they're trying to take care of their own like F.P. took care of them by keeping quiet. I just hope he doesn't stumble into the wrong place at the wrong time.

Betty and Kevin look like they're leaning on each other, similar to the first season's premier. She's scared Jughead will chose the serpents over her, but Kevin is giving her honest talk with being involved with Joaquin. They'll figure it out eventually, but this teen drama for you.

Veronica wasn't ready for her father's return. I laughed when Mark Consuelos sat in the dark to command his presence as Hiram Lodge. I think he's trying to show off the tough side to being the head of the family and how his comeback is out of jail. I guess we'll see if he has anything to do with Fred getting shot, but it could include more than one character. I like that Veronica is sticking with Archie through everything, but her parents may want to make things more difficult for her.

Cheryl is back and crazier than ever! I can't believe she threatened her mom the way she did. Burning the house took a lot of guts, but having to return on this level is fantastic. I'm not saying what she did was right, but I don't blame her with what her family has put her through. I'm looking forward to this version of Cheryl taking control of her own life.

I'm glad to see Fred is back and healing at home. It's nice to see Mrs. Andrews is back to help as well. I just think Archie is angry and beating himself up on what happened at Pop's diner (particularly to him). I think the killer has a personal vendetta against Archie. It looks like he purposely went for his dad and the ending I didn't see coming!

I didn't think I would see Miss Grundy prey on another young student once again. She's the repeat offender who never learns from her mistakes. Her death is the reason why I believe the killer is trying to torture Archie in all of this. It was such an angry murder, I felt it come from a horrible place. There's so many angles I can't wait to explore as the season rolls out.

The Flash 4.01 The Flash Reborn

The Flash 4.01 The Flash Reborn
I'm not sure how I feel about this season beginning. It seems too good to be true that there's nothing wrong with Barry at this moment in time. I feel he doesn't know what's happening internally with his abilities and well being. It's too soon to tell, but I don't think it looks as if he's hiding anything from the team.

Caitlin on the other hand is trying to get a grip on Killer Frost. Her alter ego emerges when her temper gets tested, but Caitlin seems to handle herself better than before. She doesn't appear as afraid of her abilities as she was before. I also wonder if this means Julian will make another return.

Cisco looks like he's made progress with Wally and Joe. Running the team is tough, especially without Barry or Harry around.

Iris is emotionally unstable. She's irrational with her decisions since losing Barry and living on her own. I think she's reckless and shouldn't be the one to rely on. I know that's a bit of a stretch considering Caitlin's integrity at the moment, but Iris actually didn't want Barry back.

Someone explain to me why Barry showed up naked? He's never come back sans clothes from the speed force before. That didn't make much sense either, but I guess that's Grant Gustin's contract for you haha.

I'll see how this season turns out, but I think I'm dropping Arrow with the exception of possible crossover episodes.

Riverdale 1.13 Chapter Thirteen: The Sweet Hereafter

Riverdale 1.13 Chapter Thirteen: The Sweet Hereafter
I have a ridiculous theory about the ending scene, but I am way too excited! I'm going to start with Cheryl's endless problems before moving forward into all the thoughts I have going on.

It was true when I mentioned the possibility of Cheryl's dad running an illegal drug operation (I don't know why you'd traffic it to Montreal of all places?). It looks like the true nature of the maple syrup business came to surface once the story uncovered the camera footage of Jason's death. I feel there was a lot of anger going on within the family, but it all makes sense how the dad complimented Cheryl as a true Blossom at heart, unlike Jason. She was the one who could handle the business through all of this, even when things get rocky because of what the family business entails.

Now she's all miserable and broken because her brother's death was at her father's hand. The mom isn't showing any signs of mercy or remorse. I still think there was more that she knew (probably just about the business front) but I think the initial shock of Jason's death was something she remained in the dark about.

Cheryl's suicide attempt was less than ideal. Once Archie did all the work, the other three watched aside (when you all have cellphones, call for help). I couldn't understand the other three standing as spectators.

I saw the secret Cooper older brother coming along! I know in the comics, Betty Cooper is supposed to have a brother anyway. I feel like adding him in as a long lost brother would be appropriate. I don't have any theories of where he is or if we've already met him. I just think it's fun to add in a new character this way.

I wonder if Betty will stand with Jughead if he accepts "his place" with the South Side Serpents. Betty looked like she didn't approve if he goes, but I think he's actually smarter than he looks. He was able to handle himself in the public school. I feel he's also able to do the same with the Serpents. Arguably, he could be the next leader if there was an actual hierarchy to these situations.

I see Veronica standing by Archie in all of this. She's had her rebellion against her father (and from time to time her mother) so it's only fitting she'd stick with Archie while all parents sort their business problems out. Above all, she'd support Archie with what I'm about to mention below on the final scene.

I don't know what Fred Andrews wanted to say to Archie at Pop's Diner so early in the morning, but an early morning robbery was excessive. There's NO money in an early morning till (even for a 24 hour diner), especially if there aren't any customers around. There were no witnesses except for Pop and the waitress in the corner. I don't think I saw money getting taken from the register either. There was also no reason to shoot once you got the money, just a simple scare tactic. It appears the shooting was intended all along.

Part of me feels Hiram Lodge sent some low-life hoodlum to kill Mr. Andrews so he can get the land. Too easy of a theory? I don't see a point in shooting the high school quarterback. A hired thug early in the morning isn't the style of a South Side Serpent either. F.P. left off on great terms with Fred, so none of his guys would need a reason to do something like that if they're looking out for Jughead's well being at the moment.

Excellent finale, looking forward to the new season!

Riverdale 1.12 Chapter Twelve: Anatomy of a Murder

Riverdale 1.12 Chapter Twelve: Anatomy of a Murder
Last night's episode was very exciting! We finally know who killed Jason but before I get to the conclusion, I want to talk about everyone else concerning the murder.

It was obvious F.P. didn't do it, even before his farfetched storytelling being in with Jason's plans. It was when he admitted to taking the research files in Sheriff Keller's office that sealed the deal. That's when I knew it was all an act and he was set up to protect Jughead. Who else has that kind of power and pull upon a gang leader? Jughead is the only person F.P. will fight for, so I think that reading the manuscript helped him stretch out the story during interrogation.

I'm sad to see Mary Andrews go back to Chicago. I wasn't sure if that's allowed so soon in a murder investigation, especially since she posed as an attorney to F.P. to get information. It's good enough Joaquin wanted to help do the right thing, but he too had skipped town shortly after. The overdose scene for South Side Serpent's right-hand man Mustang came too heavy. Did he get tipped off that his involvement with the murder meant he was backed into a corner? It didn't explain much with the small leather bag of money with the personalized H.L. monogram. Does this mean we get to see Mark Consuelos soon? Hiram Lodge could present a nice closer to the season.

Archie and his friends get really naive in all of this. The intentions are in the right place but they don't think carefully (another reason why I thought we were looking at an adult murderer). I feel the situation got complicated really fast once the Coopers uncovered more of their family truth.

The background of the Cooper family tree was not what I expected at all. The level of incestuous implication was a shock and changed the dynamic of the storyline. It's so intricately hidden that how could anybody guess this kind of outcome? I really didn't see any of it coming, but it's a great twist.

So the great-grandfather Blossom and great-grandfather Cooper were brothers. Adopting the Cooper last name covered up the Blossom bloodline. Cutting out the family meant a broken link to the Blossom fortune and every bit of politics involved. Most importantly, Polly is carrying Lannister twins. Penelope Blossom is a freak for saying the twins she's carrying are, "truly Blossom blood." I just don't understand how they had the ability to hide this for so many years. It's similar to how nobody knew F.P. was a gang leader or that Jughead was homeless for so long. Is everybody ignorant to their neighbour's struggles? Another turn-a-blind-eye situation.

It's good to learn about the killer before the finale, because at least we can have a better conclusion. When I saw Clifford Blossom hanging in the barn, I didn't think justice was served. It's not supposed to be an eye-for-an-eye. Nobody knows the why factor except for a few contraband drugs taped in maple syrup. Was this supposed to be the result of the Blossom fortune? Were they tied in with drugs all along or were these confiscated overtime? I wonder if the wife has something to do with it or if they both knew he was going to kill himself in the barn. Cheryl gave a fair warning though as if there was a window of a head start for the dad to explain. I like the theory that the family business may have been underground drug dealing masked with a maple syrup front.

It's all funny business and it's going to take a long time before anyone can seek out the truth.

Riverdale 1.11 Chapter Eleven: To Riverdale and Back Again

Riverdale 1.11 Chapter Eleven: To Riverdale and Back Again
I don't know why there's so many breaks inbetween the series, but I am happy to hear it got picked up for a second season. I also discovered Mark Consuelos was casted as Hiram Lodge. I wonder if he will show up by the end of this season.

It's a nice change to see the school hold a winter formal dance! Took me back to the semi-formals I would have in school. I thought the pre-formal dinner with Mrs. Cooper was inappropriate. I'm glad F.P. retaliated though implying Alice and Hal had troubles of their own for a while. It could have possibly been an early pregnancy with Polly? Alice's South Side Serpent past?

I think Betty is taking things too far with protecting Jughead and arguing with her friends. Her judgement is clouded and she goes overboard in certain areas. Has anyone contemplated she could have blacked out at one point and murdered Jason Blossom? That was MY first suspicion at the beginning of the season before concluding I think it was an adult and not a student. I think Kevin would be a scandal since he is the sheriff's son. The sheriff would do everything in his power to protect him, but that's another version of clouded judgement. I stand by my theory that it's an adult with the capability and sources to commit murder.

I don't know who has the capability of planting a gun and safe locker in a trailer. They had to be watching Archie and Veronica to make sure they were okay to enter. It's good they went out to mend things with Betty to explain themselves. At least they know someone is framing F.P. and at least they're willing to make things right on Jughead's behalf.

The Andrews are so sweet together! I admit I was unsure once Archie's mom, Mary, came back in the last episode. I thought it meant the departure of Archie (and ultimately the TV show if they didn't get renewed). I really like Archie's mom though. She's all around nice and is kind to everybody, regardless of their past. She also takes the high road when the likes of Alice try to stomp down with unnecessary gossip. If Mary Andrews comes around, maybe that answers my question that it's not too late to bring Hiram Lodge back as well.

Riverdale 1.10 Chapter Ten: The Lost Weekend

Riverdale 1.10 Chapter Ten: The Lost Weekend
Do high school kids get bored with their lives that they invite themselves to people's homes? I don't understand rude children with no respect, but I guess when you're privileged you're not taught better. I felt this episode showed the version of a stereotypical high school, complete with cliques.

It looks like Kevin's boyfriend Joaquin has a soft spot. F.P. is trying to secure Jughead's safety while also watching his own back. It's crazy to watch but I believe Joaquin will eventually do what's best for Kevin. I think the relationship has become real to them and the South Side Serpent gang isn't going to have too much pull.

I'm glad Veronica fought back in  Archie's house against Cheryl. From the beginning, people didn't bother to put together her love for Jason sounded incestuous and inappropriate. I think that it's finally come clear that Veronica's past makes her stronger in Riverdale. It has nothing to do with the money her last name has but more so the fact she knows to be a better version of herself.

Chuck is a pig and I can't believe he was brought back. I understand he was briefly suspended but it doesn't excuse the fact he degrades women. Typical jock who thinks he's privileged and deserves to go play football for a college. It reminds me of the stories of victims from The Hunting Ground. It's a 2015 documentary of young women and men who did not have the support of their schools. It was heartbreaking to see all the victims who were body shamed because the rapists got the support of their schools for their athletic ability. Many good police officers (only one came forward for the documentary) and faculty lost their careers because they wanted to do the right thing and support the women who filed reports. This documentary was well done and is an example of how athletes get a free pass in American schools.

I understand how Jughead doesn't like celebrating his birthday. I have two siblings who aren't phased by celebrating their day either, but I know that if you at least have the birthday cake and loved ones around you, that's all that should matter. I'm glad he climbed out of his shell and let everybody throw him the party. Even though Archie was trying to get over his break up with Valerie, the result was to make sure Jughead had a birthday party.

I'm liking the Archie and Veronica pairing, especially since Veronica is a nice girl for him as well. Although, I think Archie was acting on impulse on his post Valerie break-up.

I'm glad F.P. did the right thing by trying to mend Jughead's birthday. It's a good thing he got involved and made sure Jughead knew Betty was a good girl for him. We're seeing the genuine side of F.P. and this is why i think he just got mixed up with the wrong people at a moment in time.

Riverdale 1.09 Chapter Nine: La Grande Illusion

Riverdale 1.09 Chapter Nine: La Grande Illusion
I knew Polly staying with the Blossoms was a set-up for a bigger trap. She made it seem like she was a hostage, but it sounds like she's posing as a victim herself around the Blossom estate. I think they've felt entitled all their lives that bullying comes as natural as breathing.

I feel it's really nice Veronica is extending her kindness towards Ethel. Something she genuinely wanted to do was later fuelled by guilt. I have a feeling her dad's involvement with illegal doings may unravel something bigger. Maybe not necessarily Jason's murder, but it could open more doors to everything else. Did I hear Hermione Lodge say that Clifford Blossom wears a wig? I couldn't stop laughing at that comment under her breath!

I can't handle Archie sometimes. He gets blinded that Cheryl's family actually wanted to do something in his best interest. It's all a political game to see out the Blossoms come out on top. Entertaining the idea of trying to succeed on the wrong side of the fence only puts you in their debt. I'm glad he was able to eavesdrop and get out while he could. It was getting pretty intense though with Cheryl showing how vulnerable she is in her home. It makes sense (but does NOT justify) how her behaviour changes at school. Is she really that desperate that Archie needed to hold a bucket in place for tree sap?

If the Blossoms are involved with tossing Hiram Lodge into jail, maybe they're also responsible for all the mishaps in Riverdale. I don't believe everything is as black and white as everybody makes it seem. Depending on who killed Jason, I feel there's more than one person involved. In order to get away with murder, you'll need accomplices to cover it up. On the flip side, you have to be excellent at covering up or well connected to do it on your own.

Riverdale 1.08 Chapter Eight: The Outsiders

Riverdale 1.08 Chapter Eight: The Outsiders
I'm happy they've finally returned after it's brief hiatus. I had speculations over how the parent's of Riverdale are all intertwined and overlap with their secret pasts. I think Jason's death may have to do with a quarrel from the previous generation. The kids don't seem capable of murder, so it must be a person of authority.

In the last episode we saw Jason's letterman jacket in F.P.'s closet. As I thought, it all had to do with drugs. I think it makes him look suspicious because he was making sure he got paid for the transfer. Again, I don't think he did it. Even though Jughead and Betty confronted whether or not he's involved with the murder, I think there may be something more to it. It looks like Joaquin is planted to date Kevin, but I believe he'll try to do the right thing.

I smelled a mess once the baby shower took place. I didn't think Cheryl and her family would go to the Lodge penthouse (especially after what Penelope said to Hermione at the funeral). The whole Blossom family could be the reason why Jason turned up dead. They've made so any enemies over the years that the killer's motives look deeper beneath the surface. Going back to the baby shower set up, how sweet is Jughead?! The only male present to help his girlfriend organize and celebrate the new baby to come. At a time like this, it's nice to have a glimmer of positivity.

I can't believe Fred is struggling to stay afloat with the business. I understand he's been trying to keep quiet, but I didn't think that the old drive-in lot makes the difference in changing his life around. I do believe Lodge's money pumped into the construction makes it all possible. I just didn't think that there would be so many consequences. To find out low-life thugs would beat up high school kids is taking it too far. I knew F.P. had nothing to do with that even before Archie went to the bar on the South side. This is why I think F.P. is innocent. His son is the same age as Jason so it's fairly obvious.

I'm impressed with how Jughead carried himself out with not ratting out his father's present occupation as a gang leader. Archie was quick to judge but it just goes to show how protective the sons are of their own fathers (also sweet). I also just made the comparison both boys have absent mothers in the picture. There's more character development in all of this and the twist that it isn't a squeaky clean Riverdale gains my interest.

Riverdale 1.07 Chapter Seven: In a Lonely Place

Riverdale 1.07 Chapter Seven: In a Lonely Place
I think it's sweet Jughead and Betty are equally supporting one another. This couple can pull together for the truth and show that they don't have to be leftover sidekicks. I'm liking the development, especially since we see a hurting past to Jughead's life. For the sake of my own sanity, I'm glad Archie finally asked the right questions and proved to be a real friend. Offering a home for Jughead to live in is valuable beyond to anything tangible.

I got goosebumps when I saw the purple orchid in the Cooper's kitchen. I know Betty knew where to look for Polly, but the purple orchids were around the Blossoms greenhouse in the fourth episode. Veronica and her mom are as honourable as Archie and Fred by offering Polly to live with them. She'll be safe in the meantime, but I hope she doesn't act out under pressure.

A Holden Caulfield moment, really? I think Catcher in the Rye is good, but I didn't expect it in this storyline. I wouldn't even compare Jughead to the character anyway. He has a dark upbringing but it's also disappointing. His 10 year old sister lives with their mom, but he didn't bother to be with them? I'm confused because he would have been safer (unless of course he wasn't). His character is really growing and developing as the episodes go on.

I almost forgot how annoying Cheryl really is until she opened her mouth. I really didn't miss her absence in the previous episode either. She purposely causes destruction and trouble but regrets it once she slews her parents in the mix. The witchhunt for Polly was awful and the Blossoms are so extra in personality just because their rich. I won't be surprised if it the parents were tied to Jason's murder.

On that note, I don't think F.P. killed Jason. There were drugs in the car that Jughead touched, so I think he scooped it up with the jacket and left. Every parent (except Fred Andrews) has been considered as the one responsible for killing Jason Blossom. I won't be surprised if the mayor is the next suspect on Sheriff Keller's list.

Riverdale 1.06 Chapter Six: Faster, Pussycats! Kill! Kill!

Riverdale 1.06 Chapter Six: Faster, Pussycats! Kill! Kill!
We got a music themed episode last night! I'm glad to see Valerie take a larger role for her own spotlight. If that's her real singing voice, then I think she should keep being a main character. I'm routing for her and Archie to work out. I find that she's encouraging him to do better, which is a lot healthier than what Miss Grundy did.

Jughead and Betty as an item is another nice change to the original comics. I can't believe they found Polly and latched on to all of her clues. She hinted so much after showing she's pregnant with Jason's baby. Luckily for her photographic memory, she remembered where the car was hidden away. The parents should stop sheltering Betty and Polly away from the truth. Both daughters are acting out and it's only a matter of time until all the dirty secrets surface. I hope Betty doesn't push Jughead away, even though he used to be Archie's best friend.

I see Veronica is bothered by her mom dating again. It's totally her daddy issues at the moment, but like every pop culture, the parents and their spawn all have a history. I feel Fred Andrews is the only parent with a clean conscious in all of this.

Wait Hal DIDN'T shoot Jason?! I thought when Betty's mom Alice started chuckling, she was going to own up to it. I can't believe this twist but I guess a lot of people really didn't like Jason or the Blossom family for that matter. I'm glad there's more clues to his murder other than Cheryl's word. Even though this was a Blossom-free episode, I'd like to see some redemption come from that family.

Riverdale 1.05 Chapter Five: Heart of Darkness

Riverdale 1.05 Chapter Five: Heart of Darkness
Looks like the entire Blossom family are messed up to begin with. I'm not a fan of Cheryl's snobbery, but for once she stood up for her brother. It was in a way only a sibling could genuinely do. I think the sleepover was a bit of a stretch, but my guess it's for Veronica's screen time as the new-nice girl in town.

The Blossom grand aunt in the corner of Jason's old room was so scary. Jughead hid behind Betty when it happened and I was surprised they stood there for so long. At least we learned Polly was engaged with the family ring this whole time. They weren't forcing the relationship as the "score book" indicated.

I'm surprised for the sake of journalism Jughead and Betty have uncovered so much information. I feel with what I said previous about Hal Cooper, a lot is pointing his way. He jacked Sheriff Keller's map of clues to Jason's murder and hid it in a box. It's getting messy now that the parents are involved and the Coopers have a history of hating the Blossoms.

Archie has chosen music over football. I wonder if that means he will start his band "The Archies" just like in the comics. Reggie is a TERRIBLE person and the actor is less than mediocre. He's made to be a dumb jock and isn't getting anywhere with his storyline.

Riverdale 1.04 Chapter Four: The Last Picture Show

Riverdale 1.04 Chapter Four: The Last Picture Show
Let's start off with how STUNNING the opening introduction of this episode was. Jughead's narration of the tear down of the "home away from homes" Twilight Drive-In flowing into Sheriff Keller's interrogations with each family. The beautiful use of purple orchids in the Blossom mansion to the homes of everybody else was such a good way to portray the cookie-cutter dynamic of each family.

Jughead's living arrangements are getting torn down. I didn't think he would be homeless all this time without anybody noticing. If Archie doesn't know that he's living in the drive-in then how can he possibly be getting by all this time. Also, what happened to his little sister, Jellybean? She's not in Riverdale or else she'd be living with Jughead at the drive-in. It looks like things are going deeper with Jughead's character, but it's sad he has a strained relationship with his father. Does nobody know a member of the Southside Serpent gang is Jughead's dad? Or are the citizens of Riverdale purposely choosing to ignore it? I'm happy we're uncovering more about Jughead's past, but I hope it's not as painful as what we saw.

Archie ratted himself out by answering Betty with, "Did Jughead tell you?" At least it prompted him to end his secret tryst. It's good that Miss Grundy skips out of town now, but she was also a suspect to Jason's murder. There was evidence of him being tied up and tortured for a week, Archie could have been her useful alibi for the days in between. She could at least manipulate him further into lying on her behalf.

Betty is so good and digging for clues that it's insane. What high schooler knows how to pry open locks and jimmy cars open?! She just knows everything and how to get around it. I have no idea why Mrs. Cooper is so quick on her radar. She comes at the exact heightened moments every single time. I don't know if her strong persona is a result of post-Polly trauma OR if she's covering something else up. It seems she hates the Blossom family, so I wonder if her husband Hal killed Jason. They seem to be hiding him in the background like an additional character. It would really be a big surprise in all of this.

Cheryl is hot and cold all the time. Very unpredictable with how she carries out her behaviour. She tries to be nice at one point, a mean girl the next and a weird in-your-face neutral at the drive-in with Veronica and Kevin. Her character is inconsistent but also falls back on her late brother as an excuse.

Looks like Mayor McCoy is involved with Lodge's blood money. Everything has to happen behind closed doors for people to succeed. It looks like an act but I guess everybody has their own personal agenda.

Sheriff Keller is an awesome dad. He acknowledges his openly gay son and encourages him to date! I'm glad to see he doesn't have traditional views of a small town and actually cares for his son's well being. I was beginning to think Kevin didn't tell his father about his sexuality judging from the first few episodes. It sounded as if he had a lot of explaining to do when he admitted he was out with Moose. Hopefully he doesn't fall too deep with Joaquin (I believe I caught his name correctly) from the dangerous gang.

Riverdale 1.03 Chapter Three: Body Double

Riverdale 1.03 Chapter Three: Body Double
After last week's episode, I'm glad the issue of suppressing and silencing women was the foreground story. With current events today, I am glad to see there are other forms of media being influential and positive. Gender equality is an ongoing fight and human right. I'm happy to see the dominant female heroines of the show take matters into their own hands and stick up for each other. Josie and the Pussycats are FANTASTIC with what they symbolically stand for as strong women of minority. Mentioning how their mother got hate mail and harassed when elected mayor is truly something that happens in current events. Loving the relevancy of this show and the subject of woman empowerment (except for the predator that is Miss Grundy).

Slut-shaming jocks? Okay I hope that's the end of it. Keeping "score" in their lame book really says something. I wonder if Jason's agreement was to keep his sister off limits to it all. It's disgusting and I have a feeling that may be a starting motive for the death.

Cheryl Blossom has a bucket of secrets! I understand her sticking up for her brother's story, but I don't know why all the hoops the town had to jump through just to get to half of the truth. I'd like to think Mrs. Cooper or Betty did this to Jason. Only because Betty "forgets" and blacks out when it comes to what happened to her sister Polly. Also, it would be good of her mom doing tough love to cover up the truth with what happened. I think torture is wrong, but the one to benefit from getting rid of Jason are the Coopers (maybe it was the Mr. Cooper? He hasn't come forward with his feelings in all of this). I'm liking all the change happening in this town.

It's all making sense Dilton saw Miss Grundy's car that day! He must have been busy trying to hide his gun and saw them together in a hurry? I wonder if there are other witnesses in all of this. It sucks Jughead is caught in the middle of all of this, but he sounds like the conscious one trying to help Archie out.

I wonder if we'll find out the history of Hermione Lodge with the rest of the town. I was hoping we would see more of the true colours with their past, but it may get messy with too much character stories. I'm thinking Mrs. Cooper creates a lot of enemies (possibly because of her profession or maybe due to the nature of Polly's placement in the mental institution).

Definitely looking forward to reviewing next week's episode after the preview on Miss Grundy's identity.

Riverdale 1.02 Chapter Two: A Touch of Evil

Riverdale 1.02 Chapter Two: A Touch of Evil
I'd like to mention Reggie Mantle is a pig. I can't stand homophobia of any sort or the fact there's aggression channeled by insecurity when there are topics people don't understand. Being a star jock does not give anyone the right to be a top-notch jerk to anyone. I'm disappointed Reggie Mantle is the typical small-minded role, but I hope this portrays the divide the good characters that exist. Midge is mentioned to exist in Riverdale, but it doesn't look like she'll have a credited scene from the way Moose is moving forward.

I'm ecstatic for more Jughead screen time. I have to admit I got nostalgic when I saw his suspenders, giant headphones and all black sneakers. This was my outfit on civvies day in high school and any other day outside of it! Anyway, back to the part he got to play in this episode. So Jughead has a pre-existing friendship with Archie after all; Miss Grundy got in the way of them. I'm glad Jughead gets to act as his conscious and get Archie grounded into his old ways. I like Jughead's narration role in all of this, but now he gets to be present in the story. He's clearly made an impact on Archie and can get him to do the right thing.

On the female spectrum of the school, we've visited Cheryl VS Betty & Veronica; Betty & Cheryl VS Veronica; Betty VS Cheryl; and Betty, Veronica & Cheryl. If your head hasn't spun around yet, I commend you. There's been a lot of girl fighting here, but I'm happy to see a much softer Veronica. Her character gets labelled as poor, little rich girl but she gets to be a different person in this school. Betty's friendship really gives her strength so I think that's where they'll thrive as a girl power team.

As for how the episode ended, clues were obvious Cheryl knew the nature of Jason's death. I don't want this to be the lingering backstory throughout the show (similar to Alison DiLaurentis in Pretty Little Liars).  It will get to be a tiring plot that if it doesn't get resolved by the end of this season, fans will lose interest. Fingers crossed that won't be the case.

Riverdale 1.01 Chapter One: The River's Edge

Riverdale 1.01 Chapter One: The River's Edge
My childhood/pre-teen comic book is coming to life at last! My dad would always bring home Archie comics home for me and my sisters if he was ever able to. It was always a fun preppy storyline, so I am glad that the CW decided to pick up on it. That being said, they also added a neat twist to it. I think the network has always had the theme of spooky TV shows, so it seems fitting to have the same follow through with Riverdale.

First off, Veronica Lodge gets to come to town sans Mr. Lodge. It's good they harped on the whole father embezzlement topic. This way, her mom gets to settle back into Riverdale normally. I thought they would make Veronica a poor little rich girl, but it seems like she wants to turn a new leaf in this town. It's nice to see a reinvention of a character.

Betty looks like she has a tough character to carry out. She's suffering under difficult circumstances with her older sister put away in institution and a vengeful mother. I feel the parents are playing more prominent roles in this town, but Mrs. Cooper seems like a dominant one.

Jughead is narrating the town like Gossip Girl! I love this, I hope he gets more character development. I'm sad to see he doesn't have the relationship with Archie as he does in the comics. I wonder if it's because they appear to be in different social groups that they're behaving awkwardly around each other. It's like the opposite of the female friendship structure Betty and Veronica have.

Cheryl Blossom is NUTS. She's the mean girl who has to dominate and bully everybody in sight. I think she totally has something to do with Jason's death. If she was the last person seen with her brother by Sweetwater River, everything points to her.

Josie and the Pussycats are made to be diva-like, but I'm glad they have singing voices. It goes better with the persona and how they want to be up and coming musicians from a small town. Reggie Mantle is asian (I don't know if the ginseng blurb was necessary) and Moose is uncomfortable about his sexuality. I like that they added in Kevin Keller as the fun gay friend. I don't recall him from the actual comic books growing up, but he seems to be a fun one. He must have came along once I stopped reading. My mistake, he was a character in 2010 and moving forward. He's a nice friend Betty can lean on when Archie isn't be around.

Now for Archie Andrews! It looks like he gets to have the music passionate, all-star athlete, popular boy character. At first glance, he's the guy who gets along with everybody and doesn't have much to complain about. I don't know how I feel about Miss Grundy preying on young Archie. I mean, it's interesting the writers set up this story, but SHAME ON HER! It's such a scandal already and I can tell she's manipulating Archie to have her way. I don't like the teacher predator story. We see it every show with a school setting from Pretty Little Liars and I'll even date back to my Dawson's Creek days. They even casted a pretty young looking female actor to play the role correctly, but I can't fully get behind this story. I hope Archie wakes up with this.

Going back to additional characters, I saw we got a sneak peak of Dilton and Coach Clayton. I want to know if Chuck Clayton will appear, or even Midge for that matter (since Moose is going in the direction of pairing up with Kevin). I'm having expectations now for this show since it's something I grew up with and the familiar storylines we know have been modified and modernized to fit the interests of today's youth.
