X Company 1.08 Into the Fire

X Company 1.08 Into the Fire
RENE IS ALIVE, WELL AND LIVING IN AN UNDERGROUND JAIL CELL! This is the best news ever to receive at the end of a finale.

I admire how Neil and Tom delivered what was going on in the concentration camps through a poem. Finally the truth comes out, as horrifying it is. A lot of people turned a blind and and looked the other way. Others like Neil and Tom wanted to do something about it. I'm worried they won't be able to save Tom at the end of the episode! Now that Rene is coming back into the picture, this could be the swap to come?

My theory on the blue wash dream was true the entire time! Alfred eventually got captured, which was the number one fear of the group. Protocol was to make sure he doesn't get taken alive, but Aurora just couldn't do it. I wonder what Duncan's reaction will be (especially since season 2 is official!) knowing one team member got shot, the other is captured and another is hiding underground.

I don't think Alfred will speak though. He's pretty solid and now that Franz is vulnerable, Alfred won't crack. He's pretty familiar with situations where patience is tested to call out bluffs. He's totally going to succeed in this. If not, I hope underground Rene will find his way to him and come to the rescue!

Franz had the biggest secret to cover up this entire time. His wife couldn't believe he had a part in what really happens to children (and families for that matter) even though it was just covering up the truth. It's no better than the people who actually commit the act. I am remorseful for the situation with his son, but he put it upon himself to take matters into his own hands. How far is too far? When do people know how to stop? All of these questions surround the Holocaust, but it was a different time where people had feared instilled no matter what side they wanted to be on.

Really looking forward to next season!

X Company 1.07 Quislings

X Company 1.07 Quislings
There's so much conflict within the team! It's a lot of stress and testosterone between all the males at the moment. Most of the time, Aurora and Alfred have each other to calm down. The rest of the team seem to battle each other because they're getting under each other's skin. Being out on the field and in the environment, we've already seen the type of decision making that goes on.

I hope eliminating the spies means there are less loose ends left in public. They're closing in on who knows what, but I think they can only trace things back to the original sources. It was difficult for Aurora to catch her source in a lie! She couldn't have done it without Alfred's discreet snooping. Tough call, but it was well worth it to protect their cover. I wonder what Alfred found in those pictures. I noticed it was a different watch, but he was comparing black and white photographs, one of which was fuzzy and dark. Not sure what this will mean, especially since I've been routing for Rene to make a comeback!

I'm looking forward to the finale to see how this will season will close up next week. It really is an excellent program showcasing Canadian history.

X Company 1.06 In Enemy Hands

X Company 1.06 In Enemy Hands
Blue wash jail cell imagery is back, and I think it's happening soon for Alfred (if not in time for the finale)!!

Harry got injured and Neil is passionate about keeping him alive. He wants to take his anger out on the German soldier, but I have a feeling Aurora is right in keeping him as an asset. Neil mentioned in the previous epoisodes that he has no family left alive but a niece. That could be why he's so reserved with his attitude most of the time.

I like Tom going into disguise quickly when the soldiers checked the place out. These agents are made to think on their feet and on the spot.

Haha that cute bathtub scene (even though the medical nurse turned out to be a spy). It's refreshing to have Harry lay back and gets to reflect. Everybody else had their moment to talk about their losses, but not Harry. He got emotional over René but actually bringing up parts of his life before being a spy, nobody knew his reasons to fight until now.

This soldier is also another reflection of people caught on the wrong side. As much as they want to change and do something to make a difference, actions speak louder than words.

Where's Duncan Sinclair? I thought with last week's episode, he would have a role with his secret spy playing double agent alongside him. He could've received communication from his team at least, but I guess it would have been unnecessary with the team getting into Paris. Oh this series is coming out at the right time! With The Imitation Game getting released last fall, the story is relatable to all the spies who tried to fight Hitler and the war. Two episodes remain!

Arrow 3.16, Reign 2.17, X Company 1.05

Arrow 3.16 The Offer
All the fighting girls have daddy issues! Captain Lance isn't talking to Laurel, Ra's turned on Nyssa, and Thea's been against Merlyn for quite some time.

I'm glad Oliver isn't taking Ra's a Ghul's offer on taking over the league, but now Ra's is posing with Arrow's identity. I don't like him in Starling City, he's trying too hard to be a staple character when he's making me miserable. I understand the DC Comics franchise has all of them intertwine (we see League of Assassins in Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy) but having him in Arrow is a bit much. If the next TV show to overlap is Gotham, it will be an overload since it's presently in Bruce Wayne's upbringing.

Finally, Felicity came clean to Oliver on his feelings on Ray. His timing was late, that's why Felicity's moved on. Simple as that. Even though the audience is cheering for Felicity and Oliver, it's appropriate they allowed her to move on.

The episode was slow for me, and Merlyn looks like he's still in the picture until he gets back on his feet.

Reign 2.17 Tempting Fate
I knew Francis was sick! I felt if Mary officially chose to be with Conde, this would be his downfall. It's good Conde came clean with the deal with Elizabeth and the English throne. I knew he was playing a double agent in this, because he pursued Mary and turned down every chance his brother offered him to advance his status.

I don't know if Conde will last though. If Mary is supposed to be by Francis' side, that means Conde would have to leave the picture. Lola looks like she's on Mary's side, kind of the only person cheering for her really. I'm thinking Greer would do the same if she wasn't banished. Leith's ambition to save and marry her may not be a lost cause. (You kind of need an annulment first though haha)

Is Bash really dead? I know the healer is trying to work her magic, but this means he'll go missing for days. Also, Kenna is in the castle without any knowledge of this. Hoping Kenna and Bash can fix their marriage, for a while they looked like the only stable pairing in all of this.

X Company 1.05 Walk with the Devil
Impressed that Alfred and Aurora pulled off their mission so well. They saved so many girls even though they couldn't bring Claire along. As soon as I found out the hospital was a birth house for "perfect Arian babies," my stomach turned into knots. This is one of the many situations

Glad to see Juliet Stevenson get a spot in this show! Too bad she couldn't stick around, but then she would've found out the team couldn't save Claire. It shows a lot of people were forced to play parts they didn't want to for the sake of survival.

This was also the first time we didn't see Alfred have his blue flashbacks in the jail cell. When he broke down in front of Aurora, my heart dropped and my eyes got watery. Jack Laskey is a marvellous actor! When he explained what happens to the new borns if they're not up to "perfect" standards, I was horrified. I can't imagine the nightmare endured in this time-period, it's heartbreaking how much the Holocaust has taken away from people. I am digging Alfred and Aurora together; I hope they keep building their relationship with each other.

I can't believe this show only gets eight episodes for the first season. I like the history and backstories given in each situation; it's more interesting to see where each character comes from, their life and personal struggles.

X Company 1.04 Sixes & Sevens

X Company 1.04 Sixes & Sevens
Now I never knew transferring human packages to and from the border was part of the job. I guess it makes sense when people smuggle folks in and out of danger? A musician is a good disguise, but she's likely to get investigated for being an entertainer if she expresses a interest in politics.

Aurora finally warmed up to Alfred! I think it's sweet they exchanged their hidden talents. I want something to happen between the two, Aurora deserves to move on and be happy with her life. I think this is the stepping stone for them to be something other than colleagues in the field. I'm optimistic with these two =)

Imagining what Harry went through (while the rest were together) was terrible. Tending to a pregnant woman injured in a bombing showed real heroism as an individual. I was surprised to see the humanity in the soldiers in the end who gave him a ride to the monastery. Very emotional and heart-wrenching. This is just one of many families that were torn apart by this war, and one undercover spy made all the difference in this.

I can't believe there's a spy in the camp! Sinclair has to watch out since his information is going to fall into the wrong hands. I'm still going with my idea of Alfred's jail cell scene, the blue wash imagery and Aurora's face is all presently happening. What if Duncan Sinclair's mission slip up and get Alfred captured? I keep going with this idea hoping it's correct. If it's Alfred's past, it doesn't make sense to have Aurora's face constantly in fading in and out the blue wash. I am fully running with my theory!!

X Company 1.03 Kiss of Death

X Company 1.03 Kiss of Death
Yes! This is what I wanted for Aurora, a dominant, leading role! It was a reckless move for her to pursue on without the team as her back up, but Duncan said it was worth it since it was a success.

I'm glad one of the soldiers addressed a common issue that was overruled. Homosexuality as a "crime". It's a good thing Aurora got the information needed and still sympathized the soldier's struggle to be himself without being condemned for it. It was also the first time she expressed her heartache over Rene's death.

Alfred is trying his best to reach out to comfort her, but she chooses to shut herself out. I think she'll eventually come around when she's ready, since Rene's passing is still fresh in her mind. Also, they're a team so they need to work together. She did excellent with her part while the others tried to get the secret codes in the other building.

It was scary seeing Alfred and Neil stuck in that room together. I thought for sure with the blue jail cell flashbacks, this was where Alfred would get caught. I know they escaped, but I'm going to confirm he probably gets caught by the end of the season. Something may happen between Alfred and Aurora, since all we see are flashbacks of her face while he sees a blue wash. Alfred keeps stressing he feels the most at home when he sees blue. In the jail cell, Alfred keeps it together with a blue wash of Aurora. If my theory turns out to be true, I think Alfred won't talk and will undergo torture from his captors.

Arrow 3.15, X Company 1.02

Arrow 3.15 Nanda Parabat
Thea feels better about clearing her conscious to Laurel, but it's a bit of a stretch letting Nyssa know she can get an eye for an eye revenge on her.

I didn't think Oliver would be offered a spot in the league of assassins, let alone become a potential new leader. For the sake of his sister and Starling City, I don't think he's going to take it. Especially with Diggle, Felicity and Roy (and I guess now Laurel) as his team, they wouldn't want him to go dark side.

Ray accomplished to get his suit working! It's a good thing to Felicity finally said something about him. I want her to be happy, whether it is with Oliver or Ray I don't care anymore. She does so much and is underrated in so many ways that it upsets me. I think she's more hardcore than Laurel in a sense that she's stable and doesn't have to blame past situations on emotions and do the annoying self-pity-whine-fest through her life. Don't get me wrong, I really like Katie Cassidy, (my personal favourite was her as Ruby 1.0 in Supernatural) but as Laurel, I've never been able to warm up to the character. I think it's the character itself, not Katie at all.

Overall, I don't think Thea is going to die. If Oliver is considered as a league member, Thea just can't die!

X Company 1.02 Trial by Fire
Hugh Dillon is the man!! I hope this whole show changes the dynamic of the role Canadians played during WWII. This episode basically demonstrates what the members of the team have to do, whatever it takes to get the job done for the greater good. I want Aurora to get a dominant role, since she's the only main female character here.

I think the part Tom played was difficult, since he was the one putting the lives of everybody else over morals. In the end, he admitted he lied to the young boy and mom about what he said earlier to get rid of the stepfather. Tom was alone and needed to make a choice. With his injured leg, there were only a number of ways he could come out of the barn alive before the team got back to him.

I have a feeling the flashbacks of Alfred in jail are where is now in present time. All that we are seeing now with the episodes already happened, and Alfred gets captured? I know priority is to get him out of danger and make sure he never gets taken. He's the asset with the brilliant mind and most information that can be used against them. What if the team failed and Alfred got separated from the team? It's just an idea I have because they keep flashing in and out with him in the jail cell. I very much like where it's going, but I think it'll be interesting if it take a surprise turn with the jail cell flashbacks/flashforwards.

X Company 1.01 Pilot

X Company 1.01 Pilot
A well thought-out Canadian show (with actual Canadians) playing their roles in history! I only became aware of this show when I first saw the promos about a month or so ago. When I noticed a handful of my favourite Canadian actors on the list, they ultimately were my motivation to check it out.

We got to meet the main characters we'll be seeing through the series, and what they actually do with as young agents. They really do make a difference in the war but they're also forced to make tough calls most of the time.

I wonder if this show will stay consistent with running into the enemy, and seeing both good and evil on opposite sides of the team. The example of one of the German officers expressing his compassion towards the young girl, shows not all of them are bad. They're just caught on the wrong side taking orders from the wrong people. Human nature and common sense will come into play a lot, so I look forward to seeing more of this as the season goes on! Don't want to spoil this show but I like it when things look promising from Canadian producers!
